Couples Counseling
Pre-marital Counseling
“Real love isn’t about avoiding activation. It’s about learning to meet what arises - together, but from a place of wholeness within yourself.”
We have all been there …
Someone is stressed. Things escalate. Maybe someone yells, maybe someone cries and leaves the room …
Conflict in a relationship is inevitable, and it’s not a problem - if you know how to properly address it and repair the disconnect.
No matter if you want to learn this skill in advance in my pre-marital counseling course, or if you and your partner are struggling in your current relationship - I can help you to navigate difficult situations.
Imagine a relationship where it’s ok to have a different perspective than your partner. You and your partner hear each other out and calmly discuss the difference. If things escalate, you are equipped with a protocol to repair the disconnect, and moments of friction can serve as stepping stones to greater emotional intimacy.

Pre-Marital Counseling Course
This course is designed for couples who have decided that they want to spend the rest of their lives together and want to prevent any potential ruptures in the relationship.
We will explore in detail what happens during a conflict on two levels: inter-personal (between people) and intra-personal (inside each person).
We will also role-play different scenarios to give you plenty of practice to apply the new insights and information.
It is recommended to plan for 4-6 sessions.
This course is not couples therapy. If you have existing problems in your relationship, please keep reading the section below about my offering for couples counseling.
Couples Counseling
Most couples come into my office because they are stuck in a ‘Who is right/Who is wrong’ loop.
I won’t be the referee in your fight - instead, I will help you as a couple to get un-stuck so that you can have rewarding conversations about topics where you are not on the same page. Individually, I will help both of you to understand what is happening during a fight within you. As a result, you will be able to speak for your needs in a way that your partner can hear you. I will also help both of you to listen to your partner, so that they feel heard and seen.
Over time, having different perspectives or moments of disconnect will become a natural part of you and your patner’s dance of harmony, disharmony and repair.
My couples work is rooted in IFS (Internal Family Systems), IFIO (Intimacy from the Inside Out - the relational IFS model), and RLT (Relational Life Therapy). I am trained all three modalities. I also integrate aspects from Sue Johnson’s Emotional Focused Therapy.
